JLAC* to host 2014 JLAC Technical Information Seminar on Friday, September 19, 2014

2014 JLAC Technical Information Seminar will be held on Friday, September 19 at Shinagawa Community Center Hall (CURIAN) from 13:00 to 17:00.
This year's theme is "Accreditation: Delivering confidence in the provision of energy" aligned with the theme of World Accreditation Day 2014 as previously announced by IAF and ILAC.
Mr. Yamir Diaz-Castillo, Reactor Operations Engineer of United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission will deliver a keynote session on “U.S. NRC’s Recognition of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement.”

A promotional film "World Accreditation Day 2014" has been uploaded

June 9th 2014 will mark World Accreditation Day, a global initiative jointly established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation-related activities. A short promotional film titled World Accreditation Day Animation 2014 about how accreditation delivers confidence in everyday life is uploaded on the IAF and ILAC YouTube channel. Subtitles to the voice-over narration of the film are available in 25 different languages. Please click the "caption" button on the right corner of the YouTube screen to access subtitles.

IAJapan Contributes to Strengthening Reliability and Competitiveness of Japanese Products for Overseas Markets

IAJapan has signed the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) during IAF Plenary Meeting held in Seoul on October 24, 2013. The enforcement of this MLA is effective from September 20, 2013.

Notice for the business transfer related to RMinfo and COMAR

From October 1, 2013, the business related to Reference Materials Total Information System (RMinfo) will be transferred entirely to National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology / National Metrology Institute of Japan (AIST/NMIJ). The website of National Institute of Technology and Evaluation (NITE) will be closed on September 30, 2013.

June 9th of 2008 was designated as the first International Accreditation Day by IAF and ILAC at the last Joint General Assembly Meeting in 2007. On this day, some promotional activities such as seminar will be held around the world.

2007/12/6

IAJapan signed up APLAC MRA for accreditation of RMPs (Reference Material Producers).

IAJapan applied for extension of APLAC MRA to cover RMP accreditation, and an APLAC on-site evaluation was conducted last September. Eventually, on December 6, IAJapan was accepted as a signatory by the MRA Council, and "the signing ceremony [PDF:425KB]" was held at the APLAC General Assembly Meeting in Kuala Lumpur.

2002/08

NMIJ was accredited for 3 categories of calibration (mass & related measurand, length, time & frequency) under ASNITE-NMI program.

2002/06

At the meeting of APLAC MRA Council in Hong Kong, IAJapan (the merger of JCSS and JNLA) was approved as a signatory accreditation body to APLAC/MRA. This approval dates back to April 1, 2002.

2002/05

IAJapan started the approval system for proficiency testing programs and approved JEMIC as the firstly-approved PT provider for its electrical calibrations programs.

2002/04

NMIJ was accredited for 3 categories of calibration (mass & related measurand, length, time & frequency) under ASNITE-NMI program.
